Firmware Development Engineer – Trainee (m/f/d), part/full-time

Job description

As a trainee in our R&D team Firmware Development, you will be part of a team developing embedded software and FPGA designs for power electronic applications in cooperation with hardware and software teams.

Your responsibilities

• FPGA design and microcontroller firmware development
• Development tasks will include the coding and documentation as well as the test of the developed FPGA designs and microcontroller firmware

Required qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, embedded systems or equivalent.
• High interest in power electronics technology.
• Solution-oriented mindset and high appetite to learn something new.

Required skills (minimum)

• VHDL/Verilog knowledge and FPGA design experience
• Experience with Linux, C/C++ and scripting languages (Bash, python)
• Knowledge of version control tools (git)
• Basic knowledge of electrical engineering and hands-on experience with basic laboratory equipment
• Language: English (required), German (nice to have)

Nice to have

• Experience with SOC designs and embedded systems in Xilinx environment
• Experience within a power electronics environment
• Matlab/Simulink knowledge

An annual gross salary of at least EUR 32.000 is planned for this position (full-time). The actual
amount of your remuneration will depend on your qualifications and your experience and will be
agreed upon individually.
